A data-base of surface and ground water samples analyzed for deuterium and oxygen from the western states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming (USGS open-file report ; ). This data-base contains the isotopic composition of both deuterium and oxygen, location. The High Plains aquifer, one of the largest freshwater aquifers in the world, is the primary source of potable and irrigation waters in the central Great Plains and underpins much of the region’s economy (Fig. 1).The aquifer provides ~30% of irrigation waters for the United States and drinking water for 82% of the population living within the aquifer boundary (Dennehy, ).

A model for predicting the sediment transport capacity of turbulent interrill flow on rough surfaces is developed from flume experiments with flow depths ranging from to mm, flow velocities from to m s super(-1), Reynolds numbers from to , Froude numbers from to , bed slopes from degree to 10 degree, sediment diameters from to mm. Water levels in four confined aquifers in the New Jersey Coastal Plain within Water Supply Critical Area 1 have recovered as a result of reductions in ground-water withdrawals initiated by the State in the late s. The aquifers are the Wenonah-Mount Laurel, the Upper and Middle Potomac-Raritan-Magothy, and Englishtown aquifer system.

The State of Wisconsin is located in an unusually water-rich portion of the world in the western part of the Great Lakes region of North America. This article presents an overview of the major groundwater quantity and quality concerns for this region in a geologic context.

The water quantity concerns are most prominent in the central sand plain region and portions of a Paleozoic confined Cited by: Thomas Heine Febru - March 5, Whose Foresight and Dedication increasing public awareness of the importance of ground water quality, protecting the City of Mount Vernon’s well field and acquiring easements over acres in In Augustan updated plan for access roads with two new signals to improve traffic flow.
